Espanyol and KTO reach a sponsorship agreement for the Asian market

With sports betting companies barred from putting their brands on the uniforms of Spanish football teams, RCB Espanyol found a way to escape those prohibitions. The club signed a commercial agreement with the KTO, which will only be valid for the Asian continent. The deal will be extended to the next two seasons, making the bookmaker an official partner in Asia. Therefore, the company will be able to take actions to promote the Spanish team in China and on any online platform that does not involve the Spanish market. The fact is that Espanyol has considerably expanded its visibility in the China market after the arrival of striker Wu Lei to his professional squad.

In addition to the sponsorship contracts closed in the country, the club’s social networks in China correspond to 43% of followers on social media. And currently, the audience is also a factor that deserves to be highlighted, as LaLiga itself recently announced.

Without putting Spain in the agreement, Espanyol is able to avoid the restrictions imposed by the new royal decree approved at the beginning of November by the Council of Ministers that prohibits any advertising linked to bookmakers and other gambling companies both in stadiums and in club uniforms.
